Jen Burks is the Director of SCP. She has recently moved to Summit County from Crested Butte, where she worked at a preschool for 17 years- 8 of which as their Director. She is excited to be a part of the Summit County Community and to continue to provide high quality care and education to the young children of Summit.
Miss Emily was born in upstate New York and has been in the county for almost 3 years. She moved here to be closer to the mountains so that she can continue to snowboard, rock climb, and mountain bike. She has been a preschool teacher in the county for almost three years now, leading summer camps, and working in classrooms. Before that, she was teaching English in Thailand for a year, and before that she was working as a Teacher's Assistant for students with special needs!
Chelsea Cook is our Operations Manager. She has been in the childcare industry for over 5 years as both a teacher and a Director.
Ms. Ann McWeeney has an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Natural Resources from the State University of New York in Cobleskill. She also has an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Colorado Mountain College and has a level three credential. Ann is Director Qualified.
Ms. Pamela Dziedzina has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Family Services from Northern Illinois University. She also has a Level 3 Credential.
Anne arrived at SCP in May 2022. She lives in Summit with her husband Terry and 1 cat. She has 3 grown children, one son and one daughter in Colorado, and also a daughter in Scotland. She graduated from Lake Forest College with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Her background is in Fundraising, Office Management, and Marketing. She loves working full-time in the Infant Room at SCP.
Ms. Katerin Ortega is a graduate of Summit High School. She is currently taking classes at Colorado Mountain College.
Mr. Mark was born and grew up in Frederick, MD. He moved to the county in 2018 to work for Breck Mountain and eventually moved in to the local preschools. He has been in childcare settings since 2015. Mr. Mark also works for the Breck Rec Center with their afterschool program as well as reffing/participating in sports leagues. Mr. Mark's favorite thing is being part of all the emotional and communication development throughout the year.
Miss Mariana was raised in Summit County & recently moved back after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from the University of Northern Colorado. Before moving back she worked as a Registered Behavior Technician and wanted to continue working with children to become a positive impact in their lives!
My name is Sandy, I am from Nicaragua, I have lived here in Colorado for 4 years. I am a teacher's assistant in Mixed Toddler, I really love working with children and seeing the way they learn and perform their skills.
My name is Lea Lopez a Teacher’s Assistant. I was born in Leadville, CO. My family came from New Mexico when my dad started to work at Climax Mine. I have 4 sons 💙and 6 grand children, soon to be 8. Family is everything to me.
Miss Madison is our Two's Lead Teacher. She has lived in Summit County for almost 5 years after moving here from Kentucky. On her off time she likes to play with her son, Bodhi, she likes to paddleboard, and travel.
Miss Emily Collins moved to Summit County from Vermont in August 2021 to continue her career as a nanny. She was surprised to find herself as a preschool teacher a year and a half ago and continues to pursue her passion, teaching in the mixed preschool classroom. In November, she accepted the “Emerging Leader” scholarship from Colorado Association for the Education of Young Children, becoming one of Emily’s most exciting accomplishments. In her free time, Emily loves to spend her time outdoors,
Ernest grew up in Denver, CO. He went to school for Culinary Arts and has been working in a kitchen setting, in both fancy restaurants and as a chef for preschools since 2012.
Kinzie is the Lead teacher in our One year old class- the Chipmunks. She has been working at SCP since March 2024.
